504. James CUDWORTH was born on 3 May 1635 in Scituate, Plymouth Co, MA. He died on 17 December 1697 at the age of 62 in Scituate, Plymouth Co, MA. Birth: May 3, 1635 Death: Dec. 17, 1697 He was born in the village of Scituate, Plymouth Colony, Massachusetts, to Gen. James Cudworth Sr.(the "Men of Kent") and wife Mary Sarah Goodman Cudworth. He married Mary Howland in 1664, daughter of Henry Howland and wife Mary Newland Howland and they had ten children, all born in Scituate. James and Mary lived for a few years in Freetown and owned lands there, but spent most of their lives in Scituate. Both James & Mary died in Scituate and are thought to be buried at the Meeting House Cemetery. There is also an historical marker in the center of the cemetery, also called the Men of Kent Cemetery, honoring James's father and the other "Men of Kent" - Not all the Men of Kent were buried there - this marker honors their lives and contribution as founders of the village of Scituate. Mary HOWLAND was born about 1643. She died on 5 January 1700 at the age of 57 in Scituate, Plymouth Co, MA.
