He died on 17 August 1659 at the age of 64 in Windsor, Hartford Co., CT.143 He came to Boston on the "JOhn and Mary" about 1630, initially going to Dorchester, and settled in Windsor, CT, in 1640. He was one of the original purchasers of Taunton. He died as the result of injuries when a cart wheel ran over him. The oxen pulling the cart were spooked and started to run. He fell from his horse while trying to rein them in The Drake line supposedly has been traced back to Edward I, King of England (see Vol. I, Families Directly Descended from All the Royal Families in Europe). See CD23. Elizabeth ROGERS and John DRAKE were married on 12 February 1615 in Wiscombe, Devon, England. 1669. Elizabeth ROGERS was born in 1581 in Wiscombe, Devon, England.
