1594. Thomas PRENCE156 was born about 1600 in All Saints, Berkeley, London, England. He died on 29 March 1673 at the age of 73 in Plymouth, Plymouth Co., MA. He came on the Fortune in 1621. He became governor in 1634 and Assistant in 1635 and from then on was either governor or assistant every year of his life until he died. With the death of William Bradford in 1657, he became the most important man in the Colony. He is most noted for his intolerance toward the Quakers, but most of his service to the Colony reflected a balanced and judicious approach toward governance. He advocated and brought about a free school system in the Colony. He dealt in a humane way with the Indians. He died a wealthy man from his many land transactions. Patience BREWSTER and Thomas PRENCE were married on 5 August 1624 in Plymouth, Plymouth Co., MA.

1595. Patience BREWSTER was born about 1603. She died in 1634 at the age of 31 in Plymouth, Plymouth Co., MA.

Rebecca PRENCE134 was born before 22 May 1627 in Plymouth, Plymouth Co., MA. She died before 18 July 1651 at the age of 24 in Sandwich, Barnstable Co, MA. She died after giving birth to her first and only child.

Thomas PRENCE134 died before 13 March 1673 in England. He returned to England.
