208. David DEWEY was born on 11 January 1676 in Windsor, Hartford Co., CT. He died on 30 November 1712 at the age of 36 in Westfield, Hampden Co., MA. David was the 3rd child of 4, 2nd son of 3 (pages 724-6, #6403, Dewey Genealogy). He died at age 36 in Westfield, where he was a weaver after 1700, constable in 1705, selectman in 1706-9, deacon in the Westfield Church in 1712. He was admitted to the Church July 25, 1700. On November 25, 1707, the selectmen agreed that David Dewey keep a school a quarter of theyear, for which he received 10 pounds worth of grain at town prices the next spring.

Will: "And as for my worldly goods, I bequeath to my dear and beloved wife, Sarah Dewey, ten pounds whole to be at her own disposal over and above ye thirds of my estate the law gives her."

Item: "I bequeath to my eldest son David Dewey ten pounds more and above what either of his brethren, my other sons, proportions of my estate amounts uto, and unto their sister, my daugher, Sarah Dewey. I give ten pounds less than they, her two younger brothers single share thereof comes to. I order something to be given to my servant, Abigail Lee, but leave to be done, what, and how much, according as my wife shall see meet. And for yet better performing this, my last will, I made and constitute my beloved wife, Sarah Dewey, and my brother in law, Philip Loomis of said Westfield, joint executors, thereof empowering them hereby to make sale of the land I bought of Mr. Taylor lying at ye rear of the homelots of ye Maudsleys, Poundsers, etc., and so sign a deed of sale of a part thereof sold by me to John Maudsley upon yet conditions that he is to perform specified in ye said deed and also to seel my land a Pechaseck if need require, and do order them yet they bring up my children with honorable education and learning according to their ranks and places...1712..." Sarah LOOMIS and David DEWEY were married.

209. Sarah LOOMIS was born in 1682 in Windsor, Hartford Co., CT. She died on 3 August 1756 at the age of 74 in Westfield, Hampden Co., MA.
