He died on 28 November 1848 at the age of 27 in Norton, Bristol Co., MA.⁷⁷ He was also known as Horace Metcalf Leonard.⁷⁷ His death "caused by a load running over him causing immediate death." He was a teamster and farmer.

A George A. Leonard, son of Horace, married Mary E. Lovett, of Samuel, were married in Providence by Rev. Daniel Wise Dec. 17, 1848.

They were married on 3 May 1843 in Norton, Bristol Co., MA.⁸⁰ Harriet Caroline LEONARD^103,104, daughter of William Hathaway LEONARD and Mary Polly B. WETHERELL, was born on 17 June 1825 in Norton, Bristol Co., MA. She died on 12 April 1850 at the age of 24.
