The Sarah Leonard who married Nathaniel Field was the daughter of Seth Leonard who married Ruth Hoar. But it's possible the children of Seth and William are mixed up. See notes on William Leonard. Perhaps there was only one Sarah Leonard, not two. She signed off on her rights to Ruth Eddy's estate in favor of Artemas Field on March 19, 1828, along with her brother, Daniel Leonard. Temple/Lincoln genealogy on Internet has Sarah Leonard b. 5 Apr 1752 in Taunton, m. 3 May 1774, and d. 28 Oct 1839 in Taunton. Sarah LEONARD and Capt. Nathaniel FIELD were married on 24 December 1795. Capt. Nathaniel FIELD died on 1 July 1860 in Taunton, Bristol Co., MA. He was a farmer residing in Taunton. |
