8. John Jacob LEONARD was born on 16 November 1758 in Rowan Co., NC. He died on 22 January 1835 at the age of 76 in Lexington, Davidson Co., North Carolina. He was also known as Jacob Leonard.

John Jacob LEONARD and Anna Elizabeth SHOAF were married on 2 October 1782 in Old Rowan Co., NC. Anna Elizabeth SHOAF, daughter of John Henry SHOAF and Anna Christina SPRACHER, was born on 24 November 1767 in Rowan Co., NC. She died on 19 July 1829 at the age of 61 in Davidson Co., NC.

John Jacob LEONARD and Anna Elizabeth SHOAF had the following children:

40	ii.	Elizabeth LEONARD was born in 1786 in Rowan Co., NC. She died in 1867 at the age of 81.

43	v.	Sarah "Sallie" LEONARD was born in 1794. She died in 1854 at the age of 60.

45	vii.	Susanna LEONARD was born in 1798. She died in 1866 at the age of 68.
46	viii.	Daniel LEONARD was born in 1802. He died in 1858 at the age of 56.
47	ix.	Barbara LEONARD was born in 1804. She died in 1851 at the age of 47.
48	x.	Mollie LEONARD was born in 1804.
49	xi.	AnnaMaria LEONARD was born in 1805.
50	xii.	Mary LEONARD was born in 1805. She died in 1856 at the age of 51.
