17. Samuel LEONARD was born on 17 July 1793 in Wotton Under Edge, Gloucestershire, England. He died on 15 December 1855 at the age of 62 in Parker, Texas. He emigrated to South Carolina in 1816, there marrying, later moving on to Arkansas in 1835 and later to Texas.

Samuel LEONARD and Mary ELROD were married in 1816 in Pendleton, Anderson Co., SC. Mary ELROD was born in 1797 in South Carolina. She died in 1863 at the age of 66.

Samuel LEONARD and Mary ELROD had the following children:

22	v.	Angeline LEONARD was born in 1824. She died in 1900 at the age of 76.
23	vi.	Mary Ann Louisa LEONARD was born in 1830. She died in 1894 at the age of 64.
24	vii.	Martha Ann LEONARD was born in 1830. She died in 1894 at the age of 64.

26	ix.	Elizabeth Jane LEONARD was born in 1834. She died in 1903 at the age of 69.
27	x.	James Elrod LEONARD was born on 13 October 1837 in Pope Co., AR.
