Samuel Washburn married an Abigail, but not this Abigail Leonard. Info on ancestry.com has it wrong. Sarah, daughter of John Leonard, married a Thomas Washburn 28 July 1708. Some info on ancestry.com also has Abigail as the mother of Elizabeth Washburn who married (2) Josiah Conant. This also appears to be wrong. It comes from mistaken information in MItchell's History of Bridgewater, where he transposed the two wives of Thomas Washburn. That information is in Manning Leonard's book on the Solomon Leonard family, where he confirmed with Mitchell the error (p. 43). Mayflower Source Records, Marriages in the Town of Bridgewater Previous to Its Division, p. 7, has Thomas marrying Sarah Leonard July 28, 1708. Then Sarah Leonard marrying Samuel Perry December 14, 1710. And a Thomas Washburn marrying a Abigail Heiford July 24, 1711. Abigail LEONARD and Thomas WASHBURN were married on 28 July 1708 in Plymouth, Plymouth Co., MA. Thomas WASHBURN, son of John WASHBURN and Elizabeth MITCHELL, was born in 1647 in Duxbury, Plymouth, MA. He was born in 1647. He died about 1729 at the age of 82 in Bridgewater, Plymouth Co., MA. Check further. Abigail Leonard would have been 33 years younger than he. No birthdates for children. According to Washburn Genealogy, he married Abigail, but... Some have Abigail Leonard marrying Samuel Washburn, Jr. 1678-1752 A Thomas Washburn married (2) Abigail Atkins Heyford 24 July 1711. She was formerly the wife of John Heiford who d. 15 April 1710. Abigail and Thomas had no children. The father of this Thomas was John Washburn. There may have been more than one Thomas Washburn, leading to this confusion.
