2420. Joseph Henry LEONARD was born on 30 September 1840 in Newfane, Niagara Co., NY. He died in 1906 at the age of 66 in Peoria, Peoria Co., IL. He spent a year in the US Navy, being discharged 8 Jun 1865. Hecame to Illinois in 1879 and settled on a farm in Timber township, where he owned 200 acres. He was a member of the Grand Army of the Republic (Glasford chapter). He served a term as school director.

Joseph Henry LEONARD and Ellen J. "Ella" BALL were married on 23 September 1866 in Springfield twp., Erie Co., PA. Ellen J. "Ella" BALL, daughter of Cornelius BALL and Lydia SEELEY, was born on 26 April 1850 in Girard twp., Erie Co., PA.
