Joshua LEONARD and Hannah SYLVESTER were married on 5 April 1798 in Chesterfield, Hampshire Co., MA.¹⁷⁶ Hannah SYLVESTER, daughter of Nehemiah SYLVESTER and Hannah BARTLETT, was born on 6 November 1777 in Chesterfield, Hampshire Co., MA.

Joshua LEONARD and Hannah SYLVESTER had the following children:

728	v.	Russell LEONARD was born on 27 June 1808 in Chesterfield, Hampshire Co., MA. A Russel Leonard was in Burtchville, St. Clair Co., MI, in 1850, married to Lydia A. Forbes. He died there 22 Oct 1874. The death record lists his parents as Elisha and Elizabeth Leonard. There was an "E. Leonard" found in Petitioner, St. Clair Co., MI, in 1834 state census. Russel may have been his middle name.
