LEONARD133 was born on 7 July 1760 in Bridgewater, Plymouth Co., MA.12 He died on 9 April 1854 at the age of 93 in New Bedford, Bristol Co., MA. He was an eye witness to the battle of Bunker Hill. He enlisted in Col. John Bailey's Regiment in 1776. He was in sundry expeditions with General Sullivan and LaFayette, in 1778 in Rhode Island and in 1780 on the frontier when the Indians burned Royalton, VT. He was furloughed and in active service to the close of the war in 1783. When off duty he studied medicine with Dr. Gad Hitchock. At the close of the war he studied with Dr. Edward Winslow of Swansea, MA. In 1784 he went to Warwick, RI, to practice and from thence to Providence, afterwards to Providence. He lived subsequently in Westmoreland, NH and in Barnard, VT. He eventually gave up the practice of medicine, saying it was "a humbug on the people." The 1850 Census lists him, his wife, and his daughter Thankful living in Providence, RI. Dr. Nathan B. LEONARD and Anstress KENT were married on 1 June 1782. Anstress KENT134, daughter of Noah KENT, was born on 10 April 1767 in Rehoboth, MA (now East Providence, RI). She died on 15 June 1859 at the age of 92 in New Bedford, Bristol Co., MA. Dr. Nathan B.
