47. Floyd Lafayette LEONARD was born on 1 April 1866 in West Burlington twp., Bradford Co., PA. He died on 8 February 1945 at the age of 78 in West Des Moines, IA. He was buried in Oak Grove Cemetery, Des Moines, IA. OBITUARY OF FLOYD LAFAYETTE LEONARD

Floyd Lafayette Leonard, son of John C. and Amanda Leonard was born on April 1, 1866 in West Burlington, Penna. and died on February 8, 1945, in West Des Moines at the age of 78 years 10 months and 7 days.

On March 9, 1889 he was united in marriage to Myrtle Grace Stevens at Neligh, Nebraska and to this union were born nine children, four boys and five girls.

Mr. Leonard was preceded in death by his wife and three children, two sons, Clair and Lyle, and one daughter, Kathryn.

He is survived by six children, two sons, Ollie C. Leonard of San Jose, Calif. and Karl Leonard of Des Moines, Iowa; four daughters, Mrs. Hazel Gagen of Des Moines, and Mrs. Doris Bryant, Mrs. Lucille Sanders and Mrs. Lenore Smith, all of West Des Moines; thirteen grandchildren, and two great grandchildren; two brothers, Delos and Fanning of Elgin, Nebraska; besides other relatives.

Mr. Leonard was employed tor twenty eight years as a sheetmetal worker by the former Garver Hardware Company, then worked at his trade for the Frisco Railroad at Springfield, Mo. He returned to Des Moines about fifteen years ago.

He was active to the very end of his life. Thursday afternoon Mr. Leonard went to the office of the Tuttle Coal Company to transact some business and died suddenly as he was leaving the building. He will be missed by his loved ones and his many friends.

The burial will be made at the Oak Grove Cemetery following the services at this place.

The Funeral was held at the McClaren Funeral Home of West Des Moines, with the services in charge of A. W. Winkleman, pastor of Bethany Baptist Church.

Floyd Lafayette LEONARD and Myrtle Grace STEVENS were married on 9 March 1889 in Neligh, NE. Myrtle Grace STEVENS was born on 20 July 1873 in Des Moines, IA. She died before 1945 at the age of 72.

Floyd Lafayette LEONARD and Myrtle Grace STEVENS had the following children:
