He died on 30 November 1934 at the age of 89 in Little Valley, Cattaraugus Co., NY. In the 1850 Census, Job and Fernando were living with the Larrabee family, their mother, and their stepfather in Otto, Cattaraugus Co., NY. Both he and his brother do not appear in the 1860 and 1870 Censuses, at least under the Leonard name. OBITUARY NOTICES: LEONARD.— Job Sydney Leonard was horn in East Otto, New York, May 24, 1845 ; and died of old age in Little Valley, New York, October 30, 1934. In 1881 Mr. Leonard married Lida May Harvey. Of this union ten children were born, seven of whom survive. Mrs. Mary Van Slyke, Mrs. Grace Meister, Welcome Leonard live in Jacksonville, Florida ; Mrs. Belle Blackman, Mrs. Elva Cross, live in Little Valley, New York; Mrs. Bessie Webb lives in Jefferson, Texas; and Mrs. Ethel Wightman, at Niagara Falls. Besides these children who sustain his loss there is one sister, Mrs. Emiline Wallace of Cattaraugus, New York ; also twenty-six grandchil dren and two great-grandchildren. Mrs. Leonard died six years ago. Mr. Leonard served his country as a cavalryman in the Civil War, and was rewarded by the government for assist ing in the capture of Jefferson Davis, the president of the Southern Confederacy. He also fought in a number of warm engagements during the war, but he would prefer to be remembered as a soldier of Christ. He accepted the third angel's message about 1890, and enjoyed a good Christian experience until his death. He spent many years in colporteur work. The writer, who is a son-in-law, conducted the funeral service. Wm. A. Butler Job Sidney LEONARD and Lydia May HARVEY were married about 1882. Lydia May HARVEY was born on 12 May 1863.
