2898. Charles Webster LEONARD1612 was born on 1 November 1844 in Sharon, MA. He died on 2 November 1941 at the age of 97 in New York City, NY. He attended Stoughtonham Institute at Sharon. He began work in 1866 as a clerk and salesman with Jackson, Mandell & Daniells of Boston in 1866, became a partner in the Arnold Print Works 1889-91, and from 1891 Holden Leonard & Co., dry goods merchants, operating the Bennington Woolen Millis and the Oneko Woolen Mills of New Bedford. He was a breeder of race horses and owned the Readville MA trotting track. He was a Pilgrim Tercentaenary member.

Charles Webster LEONARD and Emeline Thacher WELCH were married in February 1880. Emeline Thacher WELCH, daughter of Wilson J. WELCH and Elizabeth THACHER, was born on 31 December 1846 in Boston, Suffolk Co., MA. She died on 14 September 1911 at the age of 64 in Newton, MA.
