1773. Levi Allen LEONARD1869,1870 was born on 9 March 1798 in Oakham, MA. He died after 1850 at the age of 52 in Alabama. He went to Alabama in 1819, according to Solomon Leonard Genealogy (p. 112). Also, ECL, #968. Also ECL: He married there.

Ola Humphries supplied information on Levi and his descendants via e-mail 28 March 2008. She is a descendant of Levi. Levi may have been a member of the original surveying crew in Alabama in 1821 and 1822 (Alabama became a state in 1819). In the 1850 Census, Levi is listed as a teacher of penmanship and was living with his sons Silas W. and Alvin S. He was a justice of the peace in Bibb Co. for 12 years beginning in 1825. In 1836 he sold 79.94 acres to his father-in-law Jesse Horn. He and his wife separated before 1850. The date of his death is uncertain.

Levi Allen LEONARD and Mary Ann HORN were married on 15 June 1825 in Bibb Co., AL.1871 Mary Ann HORN was born in 1810 in Perry Co., SC. She died after 7 September 1864 at the age of 54 in Alabama.
