He became Presidient of the Connecticut River Railroad. He was also President of the Springfield Common Council. He was District Attorney for the Hampden-Berkshire District. Nehemiah Allen LEONARD and Clara Temple CHAPMAN were married on 3 August 1854. Clara Temple CHAPMAN, daughter of Henry CHAPMAN and Clara TEMPLE, was born in 1829 in Greenfield, Franklin Co., MA. She died in Springfield, Hampden Co., MA. She was the first woman member of the State Board of Charities.
