740. Nathaniel LEONARD869 was born on 20 December 1751 in Middleborough, Plymouth Co, MA. He died on 4 July 1833 at the age of 81 in Buckfield, ME.151 ECL: Nathaniel lived with his grandfather Smith until he was 16 or 17 years old. Then he went to live with Capt. Isaac Wood of Middleboro where he stayed until he was 21 and where he learned shoe-making. He then went to live with Abner Wood on the east side of Assumset Brook. When he married, he moved into Elisha Bennett's house. He then bought Luther Hall's farm and lived there until 1798, when he sold and bought a farm at Fall Brook. In 1804 he sold out and moved to Buckfield, Maine, where he died. Of his children, none married except Sarah and Elkanah. Source: letter from Susanna Leonard to ECL 14 Dec 1873. He was a soldier in the Revolutionary War. He shows in the 1820 Census for Buckfield, but not before. Family of 10 in 1820 Census. See also History of Buckfield, ME. Nathaniel LEONARD and Hope BENNETT were married on 26 October 1790 in Rochester, Plymouth Co., MA.870 Hope BENNETT was born on 17 August 1756 in Mansfield, Bristol Co., MA. She died on 16 November 1842 at the age of 86 in Buckfield, ME.151

Nathaniel LEONARD872 was born on 10 October 1792 in Middleborough, Plymouth Co, MA.71 He died on 27 June 1875 at the age of 82 in Buckfield, ME. He died unmarried. Did he die 4 July 1833? In the 1850 Census, he, Jacob, Hope, and Susannah were living on a farm in Buckfield. Hope was "idiotic."

Jacob LEONARD873,874 was born on 19 March 1795 in Raynham or Middleborough, MA.71 He died on 23 January 1875 at the age of 79 in Buckfield, ME. He died unmarried. In the 1850 Census he was living on a farm in Buckfield with his brother Nathaniel and sisters Hope and Susannah.

Hope LEONARD872,875 was born on 29 July 1796 in Middleborough, Plymouth Co, MA.71 She died on 30 March 1867 at the age of 70 in Buckfield, ME. She died unmarried. In the 1850 Census, she was living on a farm in Buckfield with brothers Nathaniel and Jacob and sister Susannah. She was "idiotic."

Susanna LEONARD876 was born on 16 February 1802 in Middleborough, Plymouth Co, MA.71 She died on 3 October 1882 at the age of 80. Susannah was the source of a letter to Elisha Clark Leonard dated December 14, 1873, identifying the first wife of James Leonard as Jennie Martin.
