Daniel LEONARD1401,1402, son of Benjamin LEONARD and Hannah PRATT, was born on 21 July 1771 in Middleborough, Plymouth Co, MA. He died on 11 June 1801 at the age of 29 in Middleborough, Plymouth Co, MA.1403 He died of smallpox. He caught the pox by sleeping in a bed, the previous inhabitant of which had died of smallpox, while on a business trip. He was a merchant in Middleboro. Fanny Leonard Koster shows him married to Mary Polly Leonard (Chart 4), not Levina Jones, as in Standing's line of descent. Mary "Polly" LEONARD and Capt. Daniel LEONARD had the following children:
Mary "Polly" LEONARD and Clifford CARVER were married on 29 September 1806. Clifford CARVER, son of John CARVER, died on 25 March 1842 in Norton, Bristol Co., MA. They resided in Bridgewater and Middleboro, in the latter place Mr. Carver was a manufacturer of files; later they removed to Norton, MA, and located on a farm.
