632. Capt. Benjamin LEONARD776,777 was born on 4 December 1745 in Middleborough, Plymouth Co, MA.71 He was born on 4 December 1745. He died on 8 September 1801 at the age of 55 in Middleborough, Plymouth Co, MA. Benjamin was buried in Cemetery in woods back of Centre St., near Cross St..60 Children listed in Eaton Genealogy, p. 443. He died of consumption (TB). ECL mentions that he had two grandsons still alive in Middleboro in 1893. Fanny Leonard Koster lists the same children on Chart 4, except that she calls Zebedee Babidee, as does Standing's table of descent.

He served several enlistments as private and, in 1776, as sergeant in Capt. William Tupper's 6th company, Colonel Sproutt's regiment. DAR # 67046.

He may have been the Benjamin Leonard who, in 1796, bought the "New Forge" on the Nemasket River, originally built about 1762 and destroyed by fire in 1785. Partnership included George Leonard (Benjamin's brother?), Abiel Washburn, and Abner Bourne. (Weston, p. 288.)

She died on 20 April 1829 at the age of 81 in Middleborough, Plymouth Co, MA.779 She was buried in Cemetery in woods back of Centre St., near Cross St..60 Did she die 1828 (ECL) or 1829 (Middleboro VR's)?
