She died on 17 April 1817 at the age of 78 in Middleborough, Plymouth Co, MA. ECL says Capt. Philip's oldest daughter married "Old Lawyer Leonard's" oldest son for his second wife. They had two sons, Big Tom as he was called, a solid old fellow who lived on the paternal farm, and Rev. George Leonard, who was first an orthodox minister and preached in Connecticut but soon left there and afterward became an Episcopalian and settled over two parishes in Vermont. He married late and died soon after without issue. Big Tom left a large family. Sarah LEONARD and Elkanah LEONARD were married on 21 June 1759 in Middleborough, Plymouth Co, MA.408 Elkanah LEONARD406, son of Elkanah LEONARD and Elizabeth TISDALE, was born on 30 December 1727 in Middleborough, Plymouth Co, MA.150 He died on 12 February 1802 at the age of 74 in Middleborough, Plymouth Co, MA.337 Elkanah was a Lt. in the militia, Surveyor of Highways, and Deputy Sheriff for many years. ECL's information on children appears to be incomplete. He mentions "Possibly they had the following children also" and lists Elkanah, David, John, Jonathan, Jonathan, Sally, Jenne, and Johanna as possibles. Elkanah's will mentions his wife, Sarah, and four children: Thomas Frederick, Elizabeth, George, and Nathaniel. If there were others, they must have predeceased him. Thomas Frederick was the executor of Elkanah's estate. He had received Elkanah's real estate and homestead in a deed dated 4 April 1795, along with all the tools, cattle, etc., in the homestead farm and Elkanah's rights and privileges in the 16 Shilling Purchase. Thomas Frederick also received Elkanah's pew in Rev. Turner's church. Sarah received all the bog ore and iron on Elkanah's lands until her decease, and then these reverted to Thomas Frederick.
