Henry HODGES Jr. was born in 1718 in Taunton, Bristol Co., MA.317 He died on 29 June 1778 at the age of 60 in Taunton, Bristol Co., MA.317 They lived on the south side of the road to Norton about a quarter of a mile east of the bridge over the 3 mile river. Henry was a member of the Committee of Safety, Correspondence, and Inspection in Taunton during the Revolutionary War. He died of smallpox in 1778. Henry and Mary had 7 children: Zephaniah Hodges, b. 1743; Spencer Hodges, b. 1745, Henry Hodges, b. 1746; Lydia Hodges, b. 1749; Abiathar Hodges, b. 1752; James Hodges, b. 1754, and Elkanah Hodges, b. 1757.

He was a member of the Committee of Safety, Correspondence, and Inspection. He supposedly died of smallpox.

Henry HODGES Jr. and Mary Mercy EDDY were married on 25 February 1741 in Taunton, Bristol Co., MA. Mary Mercy EDDY, daughter of Joseph EDDY and Abigail HASKINS, was born on 14 April 1718 in Taunton, Bristol Co., MA. She died on 30 September 1811 at the age of 93 in Taunton, Bristol Co., MA. She was buried in Oakland Cemetery. She withdrew from the Taunton Church in 1792 to form the Congregational Church in West Taunton.
