1542. Anna LEONARD was born on 16 September 1788 in West Stockbridge, Berkshire Co., MA.⁸⁵² She died on 23 November 1850 at the age of 62 in Woodstock, IL.

Anna LEONARD and Henry GRIFFIN were married about 1808 in Berkshire, Tioga Co., NY. Henry GRIFFIN, son of Joseph GRIFFIN and Jemima VAILL, was born about 1782 in Guilford, New Haven Co., CT. He died in 1820 at the age of 38 in At sea. He was a master mariner, came to Berkshire about 1804 or 1805, and settled on the north half of lot 385. After the War of 1812, he found life in the woods distasteful and moved his family to New York City and resumed seafaring. He died on a voyage between San Domingo and Porto Rico, under circumstances which led his friends to believe that he was murdered. Asa Leonard brought his daughter and their children back to Berkshire. She afterwards went to dwell with her son at Woodstock, IL.
