5806. William Sylvester LEONARD¹³¹¹ was born on 6 July 1883 in Alexandria, Madison Co., IN. He died on 15 March 1935 at the age of 51 in Nickerson, KS. He was an auctioneer, retail business owner, and inventor.

In the 1910 Census, the family was living in Sterling, Hodgeman Co., KS. William and Anna had a son, William H., and a daughter, Agnes, 3. I can't find William or his family in the 1920 or 1930 Censuses.

His World War I draft registration card has him married to Anna J. Leonard and living at 1005 6th Street, Dodge City, Ford Co., KS He was listed as of medium height and build with blue eyes and dark brown hair. His present occupation was listed as tire builder.

He was crushed between two cars while leaving an auction.

He left his wife, moved to Wichita, and lived with a woman named Elva Davis. William was said to be a wonderful, talented man. By family reputation, William's wife was a shrew who drove him away and wouldn't give him a divorce. He was buried in the plot next to his wife, but Elva was not allowed to attend the funeral.

William Sylvester LEONARD and Anna Johanna TENBRINK were married on 14 September 1903 in Old St. Joseph, Belfont Co., KS. Anna Johanna TENBRINK¹³¹¹ was born on 8 November 1882 in Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., OH. She died on 27 January 1967 at the age of 84 in Dodge City, Ford Co., KS.

William Sylvester LEONARD and Anna Johanna TENBRINK had the following children:

6915	i.	William Henry LEONARD¹³¹¹ was born on 12 August 1904 in Hanston, KS. He died on 27 June 1917 at the age of 12 in Ford Co., KS. He was shot to death, by accident, while pheasant hunting with his dad.
6916	ii.	Agnes Mary LEONARD¹³¹¹ was born on 2 May 1906 in Hanston, KS. She died on 16 October 1987 at the age of 81 in Dodge City, Ford Co., KS. She never married. She was a mezzo soprano opera singer.
