3998. Francis Edward LEONARD³³⁴⁴ was born on 28 August 1847 in Alexandria, Munroe twp., Madison Co., IN. He died on 10 October 1924 at the age of 77 in Moreland, Woodward Co., OK. According to the Woodward County Tribune, he was "murdered for $1.50 by a tansient on his way to town."

When Francis married Mary Ann Trotter, his brother Stephen Sylvester Leonard was the best man. He moved with his children and her children to Oklahoma about 1894 after the Land Rush and started a cattle ranch. Mary Ann was the widow of a very wealthy land owner named Jason Trotter of Ithaca, NY.

Mariah Jane PREWETT died in 1887 in KS.

5799	iii.	Edwin Laurence LEONARD¹³¹¹ was born on 28 December 1873 in Anderson, IN. He was accidentally killed by his step-brother Elmer Trotter while cleaning guns.

Francis Edward LEONARD and Mary Ann HOTCHKISS were married on 19 February 1889. Mary Ann HOTCHKISS was born in 1850. She died in 1926 at the age of 76.
