6346. Jonathan Clark "J. C." LEONARD was born on 9 December 1896. He died on 24 December 1921 at the age of 25 in Detroit, MI. In 1869 Jonathan paid $100 for two shares of stock in the new Holly, Wayne & Monroe Railroad. He also gave the reailroad the right-of-way through his farm on the condition that one northbound and one southbound train would stop in Highland each day.

In 1882 Jonathan built a new home for his family, a stately brick house at the northwest corner of Milford and West Wardlow roads.

He bought a Cartercar between 1906 and 1916.

Cora LEONARD was born about 1867 in Highland twp., Oakland Co., MI. She died in 1971 at the age of 104 in Highland twp., Oakland Co., MI. She was the first person to ride on the new Holly, Wayne & Monroe Railroad.

She married Mr. Gordon and lived to be 103.
