98. Arthur LEONARD was born on 25 July 1915 in Buffalo, Erie Co., NY. He died on 5 August 1962 at the age of 47 in Buffalo, Erie Co., NY. He was buried in St Johns Lutheran Cemetery, Cheektowaga, NY. He was 5'9", 185 lbs., dark blonde hair, hazel eyes. He was drafted on 15 Jun 1944, becoming a private in Company C. 121st Infantry Regiment, 8th Infantry Division. He was a truck driver, captured in the Hurtgen Forest, Germany, on 24 Dec 1944 ("Battle of the Bulge"). He was a POW at a German prison camp until liberated by the British on 16 Apr 1945. He received the Bronze Star, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign medal with 3 bronze servce stars, good conduct medal, World War II victory medal, combat infantryman badge. He received an honorable discharge from the Army on 30 Nov 1945. He enlisted in the Air Force on 23 Jul 1947, served as an auto equipment operator, and received an honorable discharge 3 Nov 1948.

Arthur LEONARD and Marion Ellen LAND were married on 20 April 1937 in Ripley, NY. Marion Ellen LAND, daughter of John Albert LAND and Frances Sophia O'NEILL, was born on 15 April 1917 in Buffalo, Erie Co., NY. She died on 14 February 2004 at the age of 86 in Buffalo, Erie Co., NY.
